You made a great job presenting a varied and interesting programme.
We began with children sharing their mihi then enjoyed watching Kiwi Kids News Term Three. I could count on you to sing the Bruno Mars song well - well done. The play went well as did the alliteration sentences.
Blaze and Soumadeep managed to get the whole Year Three team cooperating in the massage circle at the end - that was outstanding!
The focus for our writing this week has been on creating sentences that pack a punch using alliteration.
Today we went out to make observational notes about Spring at St Albans.
For fitness we are focussing on the same four areas as always, but using different equipment and skills. Cardio fitness - being heart and lung strong: skipping and running Muscle strength: adventure playground activities designed to build upper body strength like climbing the fire fighters pole Coordination: throwing and catching, skipping, swinging and climbing Team work and cooperation: ball skills, running circuit
Remember to ask Mum and Dad to organise a bottle of something for you to bring to school on Wednesday. These will be used for prizes at the fair. It could be drink (but not booze), sauce, shampoo or other smellies like perfume.
Thanks to the group who were reading the rebus story for showing us how to create them. I love making messages using the technique. Here is one I wrote this evening.
When you are out and about this week see how many posters you see advertising fairs. Maybe you could take a photo of one of those posters and email it to me at anna.ashby@stalbans.school.nz.
Tanner and Brooke both sorted out the puzzle of OCTober being the tenth month, not the eighth month as you'd think. In fact it used to be the eighth month, NOVember was the ninth and DECember was the tenth and SEPTember was the seventh. January and February were added to the calendar by the ancient Romans so everything got budged on a couple of spaces..
Speaking of calendars- did you get yours out of your bags this afternoon and give them to your family?
