Matua Thomas's Famous Friend

Matua Thomas wrote a wonderful song for Te Kura o Hato Opani. He used the tune from a U2 song (Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For) to go with the words. He sent a message to Bono who said he thought it was great that St Albans School was using his tune for a song all about us.
The Year Three team have been learning that song this term and will perform it on Friday next week for family and friends.
I have made a practice video for you to use to practise the words and actions. It isn't really one to show your family because the recording was done a while ago and you sound much better now! I've made a new page called Singing Pratice.

Fair Soundscape

You all worked hard with Ms Neale to create this soundscape of a fair and the bunting that goes with it.

This time in two weeks the fair will nearly be here!
Next week we begin the production of our fairies.

Singing Concert

Singing Concert 2014 on PhotoPeach Mrs Brown took some great photos at the concert. Unfortunately she couldn't get you all. The poems you wrote about this experience and some other (not so good photos) are in the process of being made into a book for us all to read.

Music Makes the World Go Round

I hope you've remembered to give your notice to your family so they know to mark the date 24th June on their calendars for the singing performance in the hall at 6.30. They'll be sorry if they miss out! (By the way - who do you think the dude in the front row with the moustache is!? Maybe it's just someone with a bit of marmite left over from morning tea.)

Arts Interchange

We are having our turn working with the clever Ms Emeleus at the moment. She is an amazing singing teacher and the sound she teaches and encourages you all to make is beautiful. This clip is just a snippet of you singing a warm up song. I love the way you can also see some of the community quilt hanging on the walls around you.
