This cap and these rugby jerseys are very important to our family. The cap is my Dad's First Test Cap he got when he played rugby against the All Blacks in Scotland. Our family has Scottish heritage and the jerseys are two of the jerseys Dad played in.
My mum got this key from her granny when she turned 21. My mum was Granny's oldest grandchild. Her granny died not long after she gave this to Mum. It is very precious to my mum. It is my family treasure. My Nana gave me this ornament when I was a baby. It is made of porcelain which is a type of china. It is very delicate so I have brought a photo. The kitten at the top is called Ginger but I can't remember the other one's name. When I have grandchildren I might give it to one of them.

My family treasure is this cricket bat. It was used by a player from the New Zealand team in the 1999 World Cup. It has been signed by the whole New Zealand cricket team. It is important to my family because used to work for them as a physiotherapist.

This is my mother's Tara Brooch. It is named after the hill of Tara. The Tara brooch dates back to 700AD. It is a popular piece of Celtic jewelery that is worn by men and women to fasten caps, cloaks and other clothing.
My mum's granny gave it to her when she was irish dancing to fasten the cappe of my dancing dress to my dress for good luck. It is around 80 years old.
My mum wears it every St Patricks day to remember her granny.
My family treasure is a mask from Venice which is a city that has boats instead of cars because there's water for roads! If you go there you will pass magnificent churches. We have had our mask for ten year. We got it in 2004 when my mum and dad were exploring the world. I wasn't born when that happened because I am only seven years old.
This is my great great grandmother's brooch. It was given to my mum when she was a very little girl. Great Great Grandma was called Granny Shanks and she was from Scotland. She was only 4 foot 10 inches tall which is very little indeed.
My dad chose this coin that his Nan gave to him. It was his grandad's. His grandad was in the war and at the time there were two other soldiers named Clarence. They renamed the three Clarences, Tom, Dick and Harry. Grandad became Dick. Nan had a lovely glass cabinet where she kept this coin safe.
My mum found it hard to choose some treasures because so many things carry memories and have meanings. She chose a little book and a locket. They were both given to her by people she loved.
My dad got this medal when he lived and worked at the South Pole for a year. On the back of the medal are the words: Courage, Sacrifice and Devotion. These are all values Dad showed by working there. He was studying Dark Matter and trying to discover what it is exactly.

Another family treasure is a brown brooch called a cameo. There is a lady's face carved into stone on it. Mum's grandfather bought it in Italy at the time of the war. He gave it to his wife who is mum's grandmother. She gave it to Mum before mum went over seas. Mum's grandmother is my great grandmother.
